Entry Requirements:
- Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended.
- The course requires physical exertion, and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.
- There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2.
Purpose:
This qualification aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan, deliver and supervise safe and effective exercise programmes within a gym or health club environment. During the qualification learners will cover:
- Anatomy, physiology and nutrition and how they relate to exercise and fitness.
- Health and safety in the fitness environment.
- The skills to conduct client and group inductions in a gym-based environment and support exercise adherence and a healthy lifestyle.

- A suitable Level 2 qualification in Gym Instructing
- The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary
- There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) and application of number involved, and learners should have basic skills in communication and application of number pitched at levels 3 and 2 respectively
Aim:
To develop learners with existing knowledge and skills in gym instruction who would like to develop their skills and knowledge to pursue a career in personal training.
Objectives:
- To provide learners with the knowledge of anatomy and physiology, functional kinesiology and concepts and components of fitness
- To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to successfully gather and analyse client information using the most accepted techniques

Level 2 Kettlebells is a CPD course for which a L2 Group Trainer or L2 Fitness Instructor is required (or working towards) before starting.

Learners must hold either a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym/Exercise to Music or Aqua) or equivalent (including qualifications which give entry to the REPs Physical activity Advisor category) or one of the following
